Things that can't be overclocked

Although it is possible to overclock many of the components of a computer (such as the CPU,FSB frequency and video card), it is not possible to overclock some components. For example,it is not possible to increase the read/write speed or access time of a hard disk or CD-ROMdrive.


The only solution to improving the performance of these components is to use fastercomponents in the first place, or in some special cases of hard disks, change the configurationto a RAID. Many OEM computers have the CPU frequency locked. (But you wouldn't bereading this guide if you're using an OEM computer, would you?
